Hello Hubbers – here we are in our new home! Packing boxes are everywhere, and it will take us a while to get everything straight, but we have the keys to the house and the hardest of the work is behind us. It’s now time to explore and settle into this new home together.

We’ve moved from a purpose-built site which was lovely but, like a draughty Victorian vicarage, too expensive to run. We’ve built this new site from scratch using modular resources like WordPress, bbPress and BuddyPress, which is software used by millions of forum members connecting with each other around the world.

Darren has been working hard for over a year to make the new space look and feel very similar to the old one we’re all familiar with. Thanks and well done to Darren. The really tricky part has been building a high-security front end that connects back to ‘real world’ Sheldon Retreat people and database. We know how important it is to keep this space as safe and secure as possible. We’ve bought industry-standard tools and passed the “penetration test” with flying colours – this involved external experts spending a week checking for vulnerabilities.

Some of the features will look and feel a little different, and there will be new opportunities to share, connect and support in fresh ways. The Hub Dev Forum will be where we share things as we go along.

It’s your Hub – be part of the journey. We’re still all about doing healthy ministry together. We’re excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in this space.
